KAM HEONG CRAB (ketam masak kam heong)




Last month my friends & I were ate at seafood restaurant located at Sim-sim jambatan 8 Sandakan sabah, The restaurant over the water is quite popular among the local people and the tourist. Make sure you going at night ONLY to avoid no appetite during the grimy environment while you eat...hehehehehe

The restaurant serves the fresh seafood and a good quality from a big aquarium. The chef will help you to cooking all the menu you ordered like Mud crab, lala, grouper "ikan kerapu", sea bass "ikan siakap",shrimp, shellfish, cumi-cumi "octopus" and many more.


I'm very admire the special menu at that restaurant "ketam masak Kam Heong". With the google help, i got the recipe. Ok!! start search the ingredients that needed~~


Ingredients needed

  1. 4 medium Mud crab (ketam bakau/nipah 4 ekor)
  2. Turmeric powder (serbuk kunyit)
  3.  Cooking oil
  4. 4 spoon dried shrimp (udang kering)
  5. 2-3 Garlic (bawang putih 2-3 ulas)
  6. 5 Chilies (cili kecil 5 tangkai)
  7. Curry leaves (daun kari)
  8. 10 spoon Oyster sauce (sos tiram)
  9. 3 spoon Sweet soy sauce (kicap manis)

  

How to cook?

  1. Fried the mud crab with turmeric powder till the colour turns to red and the crab were cook nicely. Levitate and drained it.....so done!!
  2. To make the sauce, pounded the garlic with dried shrimp and chilies in the stone mortar. Then fried till crispy with the cooking oil.  
  3. Add the curry leaves to make the good texture and interesting smell. After few second pour the oyster sauce, sweet soy sauce and some water. 
  4. Lastly, put the fried crab into the sauce  and fried a few minute...
  5. Tadaaaa..done!!!.simple right??



Please cook these recipe by your self because I wasted my money RM40.00 to buy these food at seafood restaurant...

I use only (+/-) RM10.00 to cook these recipe.
